Join us for Keeping it Fresh!, the UBC PackLead Workshop, bringing together industry, academic and government leaders to explore innovations and solutions in sustainable food packaging, circular economy design, and supply chain collaboration

Talks will include: Circular economy principles, printing and labeling innovations, sustainable produce packaging, compostable packaging trends, and branding strategies for eco-packaging.

Open to industry partners, researchers, students, and innovators passionate about advancing sustainable food packaging solutions.

Day 1 – Monday, November 24, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm (Hybrid)

Kick off the event with networking over coffee, followed by insights from thought leaders in sustainable packaging and innovation including:

Jesse Knight (Seawise Packaging), Maureen Cooper (Recycle BC)Daniel Duguay (CPMA)Dr. Angèle Beausoleil (UBC)Alycia van der Gracht (QuantoTech) and more.

Engage in conversations bridging design, sustainability, and market realities in the packaging world.

Day 2 – Tuesday, November 25, 8:30 am – 1 pm (Hybrid)

Day 2’s morning session will comprise a deep discussion on collaboration, innovation and applied research opportunities in produce supply chain. This will aim to bridge the gap of understanding commonly found between industry and academia.

The late morning session will include discussions on IP and patent strategies (Innovation UBC) and food packaging safety and regulation (Dr. Timothy Duncan, U.S. FDA).
